Although fast food menus are always changing, not all of the changes are positive. Many popular things have been discontinued throughout time, leaving buyers wishing they would come back. These 10 defunct fast food dishes, ranging from Taco Bell’s Volcano Burrito to McDonald’s McPizza, have a particular place in history—and in the hearts of people who remember them.

McDonald’s once attempted to rival pizza chains by offering its own personal-sized pies. While it had a loyal following, slow cook time clashed with the brand’s fast service model.

Wendy’s tried to compete with sandwich chains by launching the Frescata line, featuring deli-style meats and fresh bread. While praised for their quality, the sandwiches took longer to prepare than typical fast food fare.
5. McDonald’s Arch Deluxe

Marketed as a sophisticated burger for adults, the Arch Deluxe featured a special mustard-mayo sauce. Despite a massive ad campaign, it failed to justify its higher price and complex ingredients.
6. KFC’s Double Down

This bun-free “sandwich” swapped bread for two crispy fried chicken filets, with bacon and cheese in between. It was a viral sensation when it launched in 2010 but was phased out due to its over-the-top nature.
7. Taco Bell’s Bell Beefer

Taco Bell once tried to tap into the burger market with the Bell Beefer, a sloppy joe-style sandwich filled with taco-seasoned beef. It had a solid run through the ‘70s and ‘80s but disappeared as the chain focused more on traditional Mexican-inspired items.
8. McDonald’s Snack Wraps

These tortilla-wrapped mini sandwiches became a fan favorite for their convenient size and tasty fillings. Unfortunately, McDonald’s axed them in 2016, citing operational difficulties.

A spicier version of the classic Whopper, this burger came loaded with jalapeños, spicy sauce, and pepper jack cheese. Though it made brief returns, Burger King has yet to bring it back permanently.

A deep-dish, pie-like creation stuffed with layers of cheese, sauce, and toppings, the Priazzo was Pizza Hut’s answer to Chicago-style pizza. It was a hit in the ‘80s but was too time-consuming to make.
