Nikola Jokic might be one of the best players the NBA has ever seen, but the Serbian superstar has always acted like none of it really matters.

Whether it was his completely calm reaction to winning the 2023 championship and Finals MVP or his short, straight to the point answers to reporters, Jokic has never cared much about the spotlight.

That side of him showed up again on Wednesday night after the Nuggets beat the Grizzlies, when he was hit with a random Thanksgiving question during his postgame interview.

Jokic’s reaction instantly went viral. Meanwhile, Denver keeps climbing the standings and now gets ready for the Spurs in the NBA Cup on Thursday.

1. Jokic’s Three-Word answer goes viral

After the win over the Grizzlies, Jokic was chatting with reporters when one of them suddenly asked him to name a couple of things he is thankful for this Thanksgiving. Jokic put a hand on his face and gave the most Jokic answer possible.

“Oh my god.”

The clip went viral on social media. Fans loved how confused and tired he looked by the question, especially in the middle of a serious postgame interview.

Notably, Thanksgiving is not a holiday in Serbia the way it is in the United States, so the journalist’s innocent question probably caught Jokic completely off guard.

2. Another MVP-calibre start by Jokic

While his response was funny, Jokic’s on-court production is anything but a joke. The three-time MVP is off to another unreal start this season.

He is averaging 29.6 points while shooting an incredible 62.6 percent from the field, along with 12.8 rebounds and a league-leading 11.1 assists per game.

You could argue he is playing the best basketball of his career right now.

The Nuggets are riding that wave too. They sit third in the Western Conference behind the Thunder and Lakers and are starting to look like real contenders again.

3. Former NBA coach calls Nikola Jokic ‘best player in the history’

Amid Jokic’s incredible start to the season, former NBA head coach Stan Van Gundy claimed that the Serbian star might be the “best player in the history of the NBA.”

While speaking at The Zach Lowe Show, Gundy claimed that the yesteryear players will struggle at playing in the NBA today simply because their skills would not translate.

“He might be the best player in the history of the NBA,” Van Gundy said. “Here’s the thing - like my son says this all the time about every sport. He’s more of a baseball guy, right? He says, ‘Look, I understand the thought that you compare players to how well they did in the era they played in, but the evolution of athletes is - we can probably say that the best 20 basketball players in history have probably played in the last 20 years.’”

“Look, nobody’s had a better career than LeBron in the league. And Jokic is on another planet. If I had to take one guy in history right now, not just today, I’m taking Jokic,” he added.

It will be interesting to see how Jokic reacts to Stan’s high praise, but based on the past, he will probably shrug it off and change the topic to his horses.
