Despite a standout season with the Vanderbilt Commodores, quarterback Diego Pavia went unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft, marking a rare outcome for a player of his college pedigree. His draft slide immediately stood out across the league given his production and national recognition.

Pavia’s undrafted status also ended a notable 12-year streak in which every Heisman Trophy finalist had been selected in the NFL Draft. According to reports, he became the first player in that category to go undrafted since the 2014 class.
