Olivia Miles continues to make a strong impression during her first WNBA season, adding another milestone to an already impressive rookie campaign. The Minnesota Lynx guard delivered another efficient performance Monday night as her team cruised past the Portland Fire in a dominant 107-74 victory.

Miles has quickly become an important part of Minnesota’s rotation, providing scoring, playmaking, and defensive energy. Her ability to contribute in multiple areas has helped the Lynx establish themselves as one of the strongest teams in the league early in the season.

Against Portland, Miles once again showed why the organization has trusted her with a significant role. In 23 minutes, she recorded 12 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals while shooting 6-of-11 from the field.

The performance also extended a remarkable personal streak. Miles recorded her sixth consecutive game shooting at least 55 percent from the field, placing her among the most efficient guards in WNBA history during that stretch.

1. Miles Builds Rookie Momentum

Miles’ development has been one of the biggest positives for Minnesota this season. As a first-year player, she has quickly adapted to the speed and physicality of professional basketball while continuing to make an impact in different areas. Her latest performance showed the balance that makes her valuable. Rather than relying only on scoring, Miles contributed as a facilitator and defender, creating opportunities for teammates while disrupting Portland’s offense. The shooting streak has been especially impressive because of the level of consistency required. Maintaining efficiency over multiple games is difficult in the WNBA, especially for a young player adjusting to new competition. Miles’ ability to stay productive without forcing the game has helped strengthen the Lynx lineup. Her confidence and decision-making have allowed her to fit naturally into a team with championship aspirations.

2. Lynx Control Every Part Of The Game

Minnesota’s victory over Portland was a complete team performance. The Lynx controlled the game through efficient shooting, strong rebounding, and better ball security, creating separation early and never allowing the Fire to recover. The Lynx finished the night shooting 55 percent from the field while collecting 40 rebounds and committing only 13 turnovers. Those numbers reflected a team playing with control and consistency throughout the matchup. Portland struggled to keep pace, shooting 41 percent while grabbing 27 rebounds and turning the ball over 22 times. The difference in execution allowed Minnesota to build a comfortable lead and maintain control from start to finish. Miles was one of seven Lynx players to score in double figures, showing the depth that has helped make Minnesota one of the league’s top teams. The team’s ability to receive contributions from multiple players has been a major reason for its early success.

3. Minnesota Strengthens Title Hopes

Several Lynx players delivered standout performances alongside Miles. Natasha Howard led the team with 18 points, six rebounds, two steals, and one assist, setting the tone with an efficient offensive night. Courtney Williams added 16 points and five rebounds, while Nia Coffey contributed 15 points and five rebounds. Kayla McBride also played a key role with 14 points and six rebounds, continuing the team’s balanced attack. Maya Caldwell and Anastasiia Olairi Kosu each added 11 points, giving Minnesota even more offensive support. The depth of production showed why the Lynx have been able to maintain a strong position in the standings. With the win, Minnesota improved to 11-3 and moved into the top spot in the Western Conference. The Lynx now look ahead to their next matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks as they continue building momentum toward a potential championship run.
