Paige Bueckers added another memorable chapter to her rapidly growing professional career on Monday night, leading the Dallas Wings to a dramatic 112-110 overtime victory against the Seattle Storm. In a game filled with momentum swings, individual milestones, and clutch performances, Bueckers emerged as the central figure when her team needed her most.

The Wings appeared headed for defeat late in regulation, trailing by six points with just over a minute remaining. Seattle controlled much of the closing stretch and looked poised to snap its lengthy losing streak. Instead, Dallas found a spark in its star guard, who orchestrated a remarkable comeback that completely changed the outcome.

Bueckers not only helped force overtime but also reached a significant career milestone during the extra period. Her 1,000th career point placed her among some of the fastest scorers in WNBA history and further strengthened her reputation as one of the league’s brightest young stars.

The victory improved Dallas to 11-6 on the season and reinforced the team’s growing confidence as the campaign progresses. For Seattle, meanwhile, the defeat extended an increasingly frustrating losing streak despite another impressive effort from a promising young core.

1. Bueckers Takes Over Late

For much of the game, the Wings struggled to gain complete control. Seattle matched Dallas possession for possession and carried a six-point advantage into the final moments of regulation. With only 1:24 remaining and the Storm leading 94-88, the outcome seemed to be leaning heavily in Seattle’s favor. That changed when Bueckers elevated her game in crunch time. Displaying the poise and confidence that have defined her basketball career, she attacked aggressively and refused to let the Wings fall short on their home floor. The standout guard scored Dallas’ final eight points of regulation, including two critical three-pointers that energized the crowd and shifted momentum. Her scoring burst erased Seattle’s advantage and ultimately forced the contest into overtime. By the end of the night, Bueckers had accounted for 17 of Dallas’ final 24 points. Her ability to deliver under pressure proved to be the difference, turning a likely defeat into one of the Wings’ most memorable victories of the season.

2. Historic Milestone Adds To Memorable Night

While the comeback alone would have made the evening special, Bueckers added another achievement during overtime. Early in the extra session, she scored the basket that gave Dallas a 109-108 lead and simultaneously marked the 1,000th point of her WNBA career. The milestone carried historical significance. By reaching 1,000 points in just 52 games, Bueckers tied one of the fastest marks in league history. The accomplishment placed her alongside some of the game’s most accomplished scorers and highlighted her immediate impact since entering the professional ranks. Her final stat line reflected her influence throughout the contest. Bueckers finished with 27 points while serving as the offensive catalyst whenever Dallas needed a key basket. Whether attacking the rim, creating space for jumpers, or controlling tempo, she consistently delivered. The achievement also underscored how quickly she has adapted to the professional game. Reaching such a milestone so early in a career is typically reserved for elite players, and Bueckers continues to strengthen the belief that she belongs among the league’s emerging superstars.

3. Team Effort Secures The Victory

Although Bueckers headlined the night, Dallas received significant contributions throughout the roster. Azzi Fudd delivered one of the best performances of her young career, scoring a career-high 26 points and providing several timely baskets. Fudd’s biggest moment came with just 13.2 seconds remaining in overtime. After both teams exchanged blows throughout the extra period, she converted a go-ahead layup that gave the Wings a one-point lead and placed the pressure squarely on Seattle. Dallas then completed the defensive stand necessary to preserve the win. Jessica Shepard came up with a crucial steal in the closing seconds, and Aziaha James added a free throw to create the final two-point margin. James finished with 18 points off the bench, while Shepard contributed 14 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists in an all-around effort. The Wings also made history as a team by setting a new WNBA record with 48 made field goals. Meanwhile, Seattle received outstanding performances from Dominique Malonga, who scored a career-high 37 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, as well as Natisha Hiedeman and Awa Fam. Despite those efforts, the Storm could not overcome Dallas’ late surge and suffered their 11th consecutive defeat.
