As the Detroit Pistons continue one of the league’s most impressive early-season runs, health has emerged as a key storyline heading into Saturday night’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets. Detroit released its latest injury report earlier in the day, highlighting the status of two important rotation pieces.

Veteran guard Caris LeVert is listed as questionable due to right knee soreness, while forward Duncan Robinson is considered probable as he deals with a left knee contusion. Both players are expected to be monitored closely leading up to tipoff.

The timing matters for a Pistons team that has leaned on depth and balance during its strong start. At 21–6, Detroit remains near the top of the Eastern Conference standings, even after a narrow overtime loss earlier in the week.

Saturday’s game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV, also serves as a key tune-up before Detroit begins an extended road trip, adding further importance to the availability of its rotation players.

1. Injury Update After Dallas Loss

Both LeVert and Robinson were active Thursday night in Detroit’s 116–114 overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks, a game that snapped the Pistons’ four-game winning streak. The contest was tightly contested throughout and demanded heavy effort from multiple rotation players. LeVert logged 27 minutes in the loss, contributing six points, three rebounds, three assists, and a steal. While his scoring was modest, he remained involved as a secondary ball-handler and defensive presence. Robinson’s night ended earlier than planned. He exited after a knee-to-knee collision with Mavericks forward Naji Marshall, an incident that led to the contusion now listed on the injury report. Before leaving the game, Robinson recorded two points and two rebounds in 13 minutes, shooting 1-for-7 from the field. His early departure forced Detroit to adjust its wing rotation on the fly.

2. LeVert’s Role in Detroit’s Backcourt

LeVert has provided valuable stability and versatility for the Pistons this season. Through 21 games, the 30-year-old guard has filled a key depth role, often bridging lineups and contributing on both ends of the floor. He is averaging 9.4 points, three assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game while playing 20.8 minutes per contest. His efficiency has stood out, particularly from beyond the arc. LeVert is shooting 46.3 percent from the field and a career-best 40.8 percent from three-point range, giving Detroit a reliable perimeter option off the bench or in spot-start situations. If he is unable to go Saturday, the Pistons may need to lean more heavily on younger guards or adjust their rotation to maintain ball movement and spacing against Charlotte.

3. Robinson’s Consistent Wing Production

Robinson has remained a steady presence in Detroit’s wing rotation, offering shooting, size, and experience. Across 25 appearances this season, the 31-year-old has been a dependable contributor. He is averaging 11.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while logging 30.4 minutes per game, often serving as a floor-spacer in Detroit’s offensive sets. Robinson’s shooting efficiency has been a major asset. He is converting 43.2 percent of his field-goal attempts and 39.2 percent of his three-point shots, numbers that demand defensive attention. Being listed as probable suggests optimism about his availability, though Detroit may still manage his workload as it balances immediate results with long-term health.
